Job Description:

Day Plumbing, Heating & Cooling has an opening for an in-office Service Dispatcher! We are looking for a high-energy, customer service motivated administrative dispatcher to support our team of technicians, sales and office staff. This is a fast-paced, detail driven position right in the middle of the daily operations of our company. The ideal candidate will need to have at least 2 years’ experience working in a similar position with strong computer, customer service and communication skills.

Pay Scale

$20.00-$35.00/hour

Work Hours

DAY office hours are 7:30 am to 5:30 pm Monday thru Friday. 40-45 hours are the norm, overtime anticipated each week.

Position Summary

The Scheduling Dispatcher works closely with DAY’s technicians, customers, in-house sales team and business owners and “owns” the daily movement of the schedule while assigning the right technicians to jobs that match their skills, abilities and locations to best serve customers’ and organization’s needs.

Responsibilities

  • Primary responsibility is customer service
  • Manage all aspects of customer interaction and technician logistics in software program
  • Maintain dispatch board to ensure maximum workload capacity of technicians
  • Strategically project job and technician daily and weekly timelines
  • Process customer calls into accurate job tickets and assign the right technicians
  • Effectively recognize and prioritize urgent customer and company needs
  • Ability to thrive in a high-stress position
  • Efficiently communicate with different departments to meet customers’ needs
  • Notify technicians and customers of schedule changes
  • Route phone calls to necessary parties
  • Greet walk-in customers, when needed, and point them in the right direction
  • Assist with other duties as necessary

Qualifications

  • Strong customer service and /or dispatching experience
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Skilled at problem solving and organization
  • Robust busy-office experience
  • Proficient in answering a multi-line phone system
  • Familiarity with plumbing and HVAC systems
  • Experience managing varying workloads

Performance

The success of the Dispatcher depends on:

  • Creating orderly technician dispatches
  • Routes phone call to necessary parties
  • Details are addressed and resolved in a timely manner

  • Works with techs and staff to seamlessly meet the customers’ needs

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 – $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 43 per week
